(these wouldn’t be songs I’d necessarily play in elementary Sunday School)
Are these my favorite renditions of these songs of all time?
No way.
But I think each of these is worthy of a few minutes of your time. In my opinion, each of these songs is fantastically done and present an array of different styles of music. My tendency is always to keep everything upbeat and fun, but I included some more reflective music in here as well.
Mary Did You Know? by Pentatonix
In honor of my dad….I’m going to include this one.
Regardless of how many times you hear these lyrics it is still incredibly powerful:
Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you’ve delivered, will soon deliver you
Mary did you know that your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little baby, you have kissed the face of God
Noel – Chris Tomlin, featuring Lauren Daigle
Little Drummer Boy – for King & Country
I feel like this song gets a lot of different “treatments”. While many variations on this song I’ve heard are fantastic this one is especially fun for me this year.
Something a little different….
Hark the Herald Angels Sing – Celtic Women
O Come All Ye Faithful
While all the material I create is from a Conservative Christian / Baptist point of view, BYU’s choir does a fantastic job with this song.
