Can we talk about winter weather for a second?

I realize you don’t come here to listen to me rant about winter weather, but today, that’s what you’re getting.

I love where I live in San Diego. It’s like 75 and sunny 360 days a year (or even more sometimes). When we plan outside events here there is no need for a “plan B” in case it rains. Every day is like a wonderful sunny paradise.

And that’s the problem. There are times I wish for just a little “frightful weather”.

Oh, the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful.
And since we’ve got no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Look at the picture I put at the top of this post. Perhaps that doesn’t look like “frightful” weather, but there is snow, and it looks cold, and it looks….like winter!

I have NOTHING to complain about living in San Diego, but I would like to complain for a second anyway.

I would love to experience just a little snow and some super cold days every once in a while. It sounds so exciting to me to look out the window and see a fresh blanket of snow covering the ground. How cool would it be to need a legitimate coat to go outside because it is SO COLD??!!

Take the past few days…as I write this it has been getting up to about 65 degrees during the day. For us, that is relatively cold. At night the temperature has dipped into the high 20s. While that is somewhat cold, I am a little jealous this time of year at people who have a HIGH of 32 during the day.

Now I know this brings on a whole new set of problems with pipes freezing overnight and other cold related problems. But for just a few days some really super cold temperatures sound, well…awesome.

Like I’ve said multiple times in this short post, I have nothing to complain about, but cold snowy weather sounds awesome right about now.

In conclusion, sorry this wasn’t some amazing post about Sunday School curriculum, but I needed to talk about the weather for a second.

I guess I’m getting to be an old man faster than I thought.

Peace out!
